Our Mission

Little Orphans Animal Rescue, Inc. is a group of volunteer cat and dog lovers whose mission is to rescue stray and neglected animals and pets who are unable to remain in their homes with their owners.

We are a No Kill rescue that provides love, shelter, food, human companionship, medical care, and spay/neuter services through local veterinarians until permanent placement is secured into pre-screened, loving homes.

Cindy Wilcox

President of the board. I moved to Montello in the late 1980’s when I met my husband. My love for animals started early in my childhood, I always had a dog and usually one or more cats. About 7 years ago I started volunteering at Little Orphans one or two evenings a week after work. Fortunately, I was able to semi-retire two years ago which allows for more time. In late 2022 I brought dog adoptions back to LOAR through a partnership with a rescue in Arkansas. While I love the cats dogs have always been my passion.

I found out about LOAR in 2011 when I was looking for barn cats and they were looking for farms to place TNR ferals. I gave 13 barn cats a new home. I started helping with adoption events at Petco, but then we changed to Petsmart Charities Partners. Now I work with LOAR, taking care of all administrative tasks while providing all kinds of care for the cats. I LOVE cats!

I grew up in Minnesota and moved to Wisconsin in High School. Went to College at UW-Platteville (go Pioneers !!). My husband and I moved to Iowa for 11 years and came back to WI. We now live near Montello. I retired a few years ago from working remotely for the Uof Iowa, College of Dentistry, and needed to get out of the house !! We have had cats in our lives for a very long time, so volunteering at LOAR was a “no-brainer” for me. Now I keep busy with crochet projects, fishing, LOAR, and playing with the neighbor’s three donkeys!! I love those boys!

Hello, my name is Rayna Hackett. I am married with two daughters and one grandson. I was born and raised in Southwest Wisconsin. I currently work at a local manufacture, full-time and really enjoy volunteering at L.O.A.R with my husband and daughter. I have always been an advocate for all animals and their well-being. I also help organize fundraisers with my family and other volunteers to benefit. I recently accepted a position on the board for L.O.A.R. So I am really looking forward to all of the new challenges ahead.

My name is Stephanie Repinski. I adopted my Katie Bug from LOAR. In memory of Katie and to thank LOAR for rescuing her, I began volunteering in 2022.
